Transparency and professionalism are concepts that govern the conduct of the company’s activities, essential for the smooth progress of work. This Code of Conduct and Ethics constitutes the basis for actions that formalize the ethical conduct required in internal and external relations.

The Code of Ethics and Conduct serves as a basis for describing the good actions and practices adopted by Frigorífico Better Beef and expected from its stakeholders.

The institutional image of Frigorífico Better Beef and what it represents to its employees, customers, suppliers and the community is a very important asset for the company. Therefore, we are all responsible for preserving and continually improving the image and credibility built throughout its history.
Relationships with the press must value the reliability of the information transmitted and aim to disseminate relevant facts and promote the Better Beef Frigorific in a truthful, clear and direct manner.
Marketing and advertising actions are essential for public awareness and for preserving the image of respectability and trust of Frigorífico Better Beef among different audiences. They must express their principles and the integrity of their policies and practices, which are essential to gain and preserve the loyalty of our employees, customers, consumers and other stakeholders. The need for transparency and veracity in all communications from Frigorífico Better Beef is fundamental. In addition to animal protein processing, ideas, strategies and other types of commercial and industrial information are produced, which are valuable, but not public, which the company owns and protects under the law, as it does with other types of assets. Therefore, all employees, suppliers and customers must take care of this information.
Employee responsibilities

A. Ensure the image of Frigorífico Better Beef, inside and outside the work environment, being aligned with the company’s values, acting ethically and free from prejudice;
B. Do not make statements or give interviews on behalf of Fridge Better Beef unless you are expressly authorized and prepared to do so;
C. Ensure that the records and documentation that support the Better Beef Frigorific activities always contain correct, safe, accurate and updated information;
D. Ensure the safekeeping and confidentiality of confidential information related to the company;
E. Do not discuss confidential information in public areas, public transport or transfers, as well as on social networks, personal and/or corporate blogs, or other means of communication that may create a risk of unwanted exposure of information;
F. Ensure the image of Refrigerator Better Beef on social media. Prejudiced, discriminatory and offensive publications are not aligned with the company’s values.

Frigorifico Better Beef respects labor legislation, not using illegal, informal, child, slave and/or forced labor.
Frigorifico Better Beef recognizes the legitimacy of unions, respecting their initiatives and practices, always being willing to dialogue in any situation, seeking solutions that serve everyone involved, and also values the freedom of its employees to opt for union membership.
Refrigerator Better Beef strives for a healthy work environment, maintaining respect, good communication, cleanliness and organization in accordance with internal standards and guidelines, expecting the same responsible behavior from all its patrons, employees and service providers.
Employee Responsibility:
A. Be aware of situations that constitute a conflict of interest, real or potential, and that may interfere with the ability to remain impartial and make impartial decisions in relation to Frigorificador Better Beef;
B. Do not use your position, access to privileged information or the name of the company, inside or outside the work environment, to obtain personal benefits or advantages of any nature for yourself or third parties;
C. Do not develop parallel activities, whether paid or unpaid, that are competitive or incompatible with the business of Frigorífico Better Beef or that cause physical or emotional exhaustion that harms your conduct or professional performance;
D. Respect other employees, avoiding any prejudiced, aggressive, discriminatory conduct or conduct that could make any employee feel attacked, humiliated, intimidated, discriminated against, harassed or excluded;
E. Do not adopt conduct that could put your own health and safety and that of other employees at risk, such as smoking in inappropriate places (observe signposted areas) or consuming alcoholic beverages or drugs, carrying weapons in the workplace, showing up for working while intoxicated or under the influence of drugs;
F. Ensure the good use and conservation of the company’s assets placed under its custody so that there is no loss, damage and/or waste and, not use the facilities and assets (such as equipment) of the Better Beef Refrigerator, for private purposes, illicit and unethical;
G. Use available electronic communication resources solely and exclusively for professional purposes, within legal requirements and in accordance with the ethical principles of this Code, not transmitting defamatory comments, messages or documents containing language, images or files that are offensive or induce any form of discrimination. As well as not installing any type of program or file that violates the intellectual property of the company or third parties on the Better Beef Frigorific equipment;
H. Keep up to date with legal, regulatory standards and instructions relating to the performance and safety of your activities and also with the important rules set out in the manuals made available to employees;
I. Ensure the safekeeping of confidential information of Frigorificador Better Beef internally and externally;
J. Better Beef Refrigerator rejects any form of corruption. Be aware of situations that characterize this type of behavior. The practice of these acts is subject to disciplinary measures and sanctions in accordance with current legislation;
K. Report, via available channels (which maintain the confidentiality of the employee’s information and identity), any practices contrary to those contained in this Code of Ethics.
L- Frigorifico Better Beef rejects any form of sexual or moral harassment at work. Be aware of situations that characterize this type of behavior. The practices of these acts are subject to disciplinary measures and sanctions in accordance with current legislation.
Customers and consumers:
Offering quality means demonstrating attention
Customers and consumers motivate the Better Beef Frigorific to be in constant development, a true inspiration, translated into innovative processes through high technology to produce quality products. It is for this audience that the company works daily. Therefore, they are our most important commercial partners. The company wishes to constantly increase its credibility with customers and consumers, offering quality products within standards, demonstrating its responsibility towards the environment and people, the basis of its practices for the sustainable development of its business.
Responsibility of employees towards Customers and Consumers:
A. Treat customers and consumers with respect, cordiality, attention, effectiveness, proactivity and agility in meeting their needs and, above all, ethically;
B. Serve customers and consumers impartially and free from prejudice of any nature, strictly obeying the laws, as well as the regulations established by the Consumer Protection Code and the Brazilian Commercial Code;
C. Watch over the interests of customers and consumers, helping to solve problems and forwarding their requests and complaints to the responsible areas in the company, efficiently and quickly, returning to them whenever necessary;
D. Fulfill what you promise within the agreed deadline;
E. Protect the confidentiality of confidential information passed on to it by its clients and consumers;
F. Disclose information about our products, services and socio-environmental actions in a clear and truthful manner;
G. Maintain the established and desired standard for the products, as it is our certificate of guarantee of quality, sustainability and innovation;
H. Be open to criticism and contributions in the permanent search for improving the quality and efficiency of our products and services;
I. Disseminate the practices of Frigorífico Better Beef, serving as a reference and engagement.
Suppliers:
aligning principles is the best way to work
Frigorifico Better Beef values ethical practices in the selection, negotiation and administration of all commercial activities, treating all suppliers with respect, without privileges or discrimination of any kind, regardless of the volume of business each one maintains with the company.
Better Beef Frigorific suppliers must have integrity in the production, delivery and practice of signed contracts, ethically maintaining the confidentiality of information and complying with the commercial conditions established within the law.
Encouraging good practices, valuing sustainability issues, must be constantly sought and will be especially observed.
The choice and hiring of suppliers must always be based on technical, professional and ethical criteria, aligned with the guidelines of this Code and conducted through a pre-determined objective process, such as competition or price quotation, which guarantee the best cost relationship -benefit.
Suppliers must know the values and practices of Frigorífico Better Beef and act compatible with the principles of this Code of Conduct and Ethics, respecting environmental and labor legislation, not using illegal, informal, child or slave labor.
Responsibility of employees towards suppliers:
All employees at Frigorífico Better Beef must follow the following practices when hiring and in relationships with our suppliers.
A. Ensure that all suppliers respect labor legislation, do not use child or slave labor and value the health and safety of their workers;
B. Make sure that all suppliers respect environmental legislation and adopt compatible attitudes with respect to the environment;
C. Ensure that all suppliers act in accordance with the principles expressed in this document and in accordance with the standards applicable to their activities;
D. Establish relationships free from favoritism;
E. Maintain the confidentiality of the supplier’s data and ensure that the supplier maintains confidentiality regarding the Better Beef Frigorific information;
F. Do not request and/or accept any type of gifts, benefits or advantages of any kind and nature from suppliers, such as, for example, advantages, financial compensation, merchandise, leisure trips, tickets or any other services offered. If there is an interest in sending gifts by a supplier or service provider, the Human Resources sector must communicate it immediately and will be responsible for their destination;
G. Represent the company, signing contracts and other documents only when granted such attribution and/or has legal powers to represent the company.
Responsibility of employees vis-à-vis competitors:
Competitors: respect means working ethically
Frigorífico Better Beef’s competitiveness will be based on our capacity and the ethical management of our company, always guided by the company’s values of conduct and respect. All market and competitor information, legitimate and necessary for the business, must be obtained through transparent and suitable practices, and its acquisition through illicit means is not permitted.
Respecting public power means working seriously
Frigorifico Better Beef respects the laws and is interested in contributing to the social and economic development of the country, respecting good governance practices. All operations and businesses carried out by Frigorífico Better Beef are, and must remain, supported by the respective documentation and are subject to immediate accounting entry in the company’s official books and records, in strict compliance with accounting standards and principles. Representatives of public bodies, duly identified by credentials, receive professional treatment, making available to them, whenever requested, the relevant information, data and records required by law. Frigorifico Better Beef does not offer or promise, directly or through third parties, payments, gifts or benefits to public agents, political parties or their members and candidates for political office, as well as their family members or equivalents, with the aim of obtaining benefit to the company.
Responsibility of employees towards the Public Authorities:
A. Keep up to date with legal, regulatory standards and other instructions relevant to the performance of your activities;
B. Maintain a good relationship with the government bodies with which it interacts due to its activities, being cooperative in accordance with current and transparent legislation, in order to combat corruption, favoritism and the obtaining of illegal advantages and against the principles of this code and always defending the company’s legitimate interests;
C. Represent the company before the Public Authorities only when granted such attribution, always respecting the company’s incorporation and representation documents;
D. Refrain from practices that violate the laws, rules or regulations in force in the country, as well as that contradict the principles of conduct expressed in this Code.
Administration and application of the Code of Conduct and Ethics
All employees at Frigorífico Better Beef must respect and comply with the terms contained in this Code of Conduct and Ethics, as well as being responsible for its application in all their professional relationships and with other stakeholders.
Code Violation
Any person who becomes aware of any conduct or activities contrary to the principles established here must report the fact to their immediate superior or forward a report to the Conduct and Ethics Committee. All information and/or complaints received by the Committee will be treated as confidential, and the identity of the informant will be preserved. Violation of any conduct or practice contained in this Code will be penalized upon evaluation by the Conduct and Ethics Committee, as well as being subject to the application of laws in force in Brazil.
Conduct and Ethics Committee
Frigorifico Better Beef will permanently maintain a Conduct and Ethics Committee, composed of the President, the HR Manager and the Legal Manager and will have the following responsibilities:
A. Periodically review this Code every two years;
B. Receive reports of violations of this Code;
C. Guarantee the confidentiality of the information received;
D. Analyze and evaluate violations of the Code, investigating the facts and supporting decision-making;
E. Forward the most serious cases of violations of the Code of Conduct and Ethics to the Board;
F. Be responsible for disseminating this Code, which will be available to all employees who request it, as well as on the company website;
G. Resolve doubts and present other information to employees regarding this Code, through the channels provided.
